Four men have been shot dead and four others seriously wounded in a deadly shootout with police on Thursday 29 August, in Milnerton, Cape Town.
The Western Cape police task team had been tracking a minibus carrying the suspects when the occupants allegedly opened fire, forcing officers to respond with deadly force.
The violent clash left four suspects dead at the scene. The injured, all from Cape Town and aged between 23 and 38, are currently under heavy police guard in a local hospital, says Brigadier Novela Potelwa, Western Cape police spokesperson.
Police also seized four firearms and rounds of ammunition from the suspects’ vehicle.
The investigation continues as authorities search the scene for more evidence and urge anyone with information to come forward.
