De Village Lifestyle and Iliso Labantu News have partnered to provide hearty winter soup to vulnerable residents, in Dunoon township, near Milnerton. The wholesome meat and veggie soup is intended to cater to the needs of the community and express our love for its people. The collaboration plan was to start providing the soup to the most vulnerable residents. However, the first pot of soup had to be rushed to feed fire victims in the Ethembeni informal settlement, where a shack fire destroyed 50 homes, and left more than 200 families homeless.

DJ MaOrange, founder of De Village Lifestyle – an integrated food and entertainment business in Dunoon – said that the partnership with Iliso Labantu community newspaper is long-term and aims to help feed the most vulnerable in Dunoon. “It is not a once-off initiative. We will be providing soup with funds from our entities to help alleviate suffering in our community,” said MaOrange.
