West Coast College dominates national Track & Field, clinches victory over provincial rivals

Tarmyn-Leigh Neethling, a standout performer from West Coast College’s Citrusdal campus, clinched an impressive haul of five gold medals, contributing to the college’s remarkable total of 16 gold medals at the 2024 CoSACSA Track & Field Competition.
The competition unfolded at Gauteng Province’s renowned Pilditch Athletics Stadium, spanning from Thursday 2 May to Saturday 4 May. Athletes from across all nine provinces converged at this prestigious venue, eager to display their prowess and determination on the national platform.
Neethling’s exceptional performance exemplified the dedication and hard work of West Coast College’s athletes, who formed the majority of the CoSACSA Western Cape Province team. Comprising 27 students from various colleges, including Boland College, College of Cape Town, Falsebay College, South Cape College, Northlink College, and West Coast College, the team demonstrated not only skill but also the unity and strength of purpose that defines true sportsmanship.
The 16 gold medals secured by West Coast College athletes were a testament to their commitment to excellence and their unwavering determination to succeed.
Their success not only brought glory to their college but also contributed to the overall victory of the CoSACSA Western Cape Province team, which was crowned the overall winners of the competition.
