After a devastating shack fire that injured one person and destroyed 262 shacks, displacing 702 individuals and rendering them homeless, the non-profit organisation Yizani Kuthi (YK) has intervened to offer crucial support to the victims in the Thembeni informal settlement, Dunoon.
The fire incident took place on Reconciliation Day, Saturday, 16 December.
On Wednesday, 20 December, Xolisa Sigenu, a director at YK, delivered shoes and clothing to assist the fire victims in Thembeni.
“We, at Yizani Kuthi (YK), are dedicated to giving back to the community and extending our sympathy to the fire victims,” said Sigenu.
